Originally built in the late 1970's by a renowned Arizona Corvette specialty shop for competition in mostly local and California Corvette club events, this Vette was extensively raced, refined and tuned to numerous victories during the 80's & early 90's in both SCCA and NHRA events. None other than Dick Guldstrand was brought on board to tailor the power train and chassis to precise specifications to slaughter the competition. Guldstrand was so impressed by the ability of this small yet successful Arizona shop that he appointed this shop his one and only Guldstrand Authorized Distributor and Installer and affectionately referred to it as Guldstrand East.
Starting with a no-hit factory 454 LS-5 and four-speed coupe, equipped with heavy duty suspension and power brakes, the transformation to all out race car began. The Vette was completely disassembled including removal of the body from the chassis to facilitate the installation of a full on Guldstrand Sport Suspension and a roll cage after a thorough strengthening of the factory H.D. frame. Furthermore a Factory Chevrolet 1970 era LS-7 was procured through a local Arizona Chevrolet Parts Department and was carefully blueprinted and balanced utilizing all of the factory GM internals with the exception of a Pete Jackson Gear Drive, ARP Fasteners and Crane Roller Rocker Arms. The motor is topped off with a dual-plane intake manifold and a Holley 1150 CFM carburetor. A complete MSD Ignition system with Soft-Touch rev limiter lights the fire. Backed by a period correct Muncie M22 Rock Crusher transmission, a Hurst Shifter and 4.10 gears, this combo has been tested and proven. Every inch of this Corvette has been engineered and modified to ensure that this powerful yet reliable race car is ready for action; it has been recently freshened up and is race ready with a new clutch, new flywheel, new scattershield, new Hoosier tires, a carburetor rebuild and a complete fluid change. Could be made street legal with a few modifications; tires, wipers, etc.

There is no VIN tag remaining on the windshield post, it was completely removed and destroyed by law enforcement in the mid seventies due to a theft recovery. This was common practice back in the day after a vehicle was reported stolen, an insurance claim was paid and the vehicle was recovered. I purchased the car from the insurance company and decided to race it. Back then, in Arizona, off-road vehicles did not need a VIN or registration. Thank you. Start at $50,000 with reserve.
